Tottenham registered their first Premier League win from the new English domestic season last weekend once they edged a 1-0 win away at Sunderland which lifted the offending articles from the lower reaches with the division.
They now get back to White Hart Lane where they’ll be looking to share back-to-back wins after they entertain Crystal Palace carrying out a couple of frustrating stalemates on home turf already if they were held to 2-2 and 0-0 draws by Stoke City and Everton.
Therefore, Tottenham’s early home record stands at 0-2-0 2/2 starting today’s encounter with London club Crystal Palace. It’s also worth noting that Tottenham striker Harry Kane hasn’t scored yet inside the Premier League and must be due for any goal soon.
Visitors Crystal Palace started out in the blocks quickly at the beginning of this season with three wins from other first four matches in the season with victories over Norwich City, Aston Villa and the majority impressive of most, Chelsea away at Stamford Bridge within a 2-1 win.
This sort of start reminds me of West Ham’s impressive start to their last campaign where The Hammers won five with their first nine matches, but fell away dramatically thereafter. Not that Palace is going to do the same, but it’s interesting that their two defeats so far in 2010 were against top half clubs Arsenal and Manchester City.
They come up against a Tottenham side this evening who have been largely disappointing thus far, but things can alter quickly if Kane starts firing.
