Bristol City vs Blackburn
England League Championship
Date: Saturday, 22nd October 2016,
Kick-Off at 15:00 UK
Venue: Ashton Gate Stadium, Bristol.

Blackburn climbed out of the bottom three with a 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest in midweek and are certainly making strides in the right direction now after a troubled start to life under Owen Coyle. Overall though there is still plenty to worry Rovers fans. They’d failed to score in 3 matches prior to the Forest game and their only two previous wins were against Derby and Rotherham who were both struggling badly when they played them.

There’s not enough about Rovers to suggest they are going to come to a tough away match like this and get a result. They average just 0.67 points per game on the road this term with 4 of their 6 away matches so far ending in defeat. They’ve improved a bit defensively but have still only kept one clean sheet all season in all competitions and none on the road. Certainly you have to like the look of backing Tammy Abraham to score any time at 5/4 here with the teenager having scored 8 times already in the league this term.

Bristol City come into this one after back-to-back defeats but they may feel as though they travelled to Cardiff and QPR at just the wrong time with one under new management and the other in improved form. The Robins have won 67% of their home matches and have taken 10 points from their last 4 and they’ve already beaten better teams than Blackburn at Ashton Gate this season.

With Rovers a bit tougher to break down now, they should be able to make a game of it but Bristol City’s extra firepower could well be the decisive factor and backing Bristol City to Win at 4/5 looks a solid punt especially when you consider they’ve won 6 of their last 9 Championship home games.

Bristol City vs Blackburn Rovers: Prediction

Bristol are the favourites in this fixture, but their Head to Head Stats says otherwise. The home team have been enjoying a good run of form until their last 2 games, which have both ended in defeat. They are likely to get back to winning ways in this game, considering their good home form since September.

Blackburn have poor on the road, they have won just one of their last 7 away games. They need to revitalize their away form but i can’t see them doing it in this game.
