Guingamp vs Angers : Preview and Prediction Match Previews French Ligue 1 Friday, 29th October 2016

Reason For Guingamp vs Angers Betting Tips

Antoine Kombouare’s Guingamp will be fancied to notch a third consecutive Ligue 1 victory when they entertain Angers at Stade du Roudourou this Saturday night.

After a disappointing end to September which saw Guingamp slip to 1-0 defeats at Bastia and Rennes, Kombouare’s side found improvement following the international break to beat Lille 1-0 at home before a superb 1-3 success away to Lyon last weekend as a brace from youngster Marcus Coco fired the club to fifth in the Ligue 1 standings.

They defend an unbeaten home record (three wins, one draw) going into Saturday’s clash and Angers will have to go some to better the 2-2 result they fought out in last term’s corresponding fixture.

Stephane Moulin’s side faced a difficult game against fourth placed Toulouse last weekend but held out for a 0-0 draw and a similar result here would definitely please the travelling supporters.

Angers have a mixed record on the road thus far with two wins and three losses but they seldom give much away – they have conceded just six goals in those five outings and shipped just 23 goals away from home throughout last term.

Although last weekend’s success at Lyon somewhat bucked the trend, Guingamp are not exactly a team renowned for prolific scoring and have in fact hit just one goal per game this term excluding that performance.

The above aspects combined point towards a low scoring game at Stade du Roudourou and it’s easy to envisage a scrappy affair – especially as both league games last season ended in draws.

There’s not enough to suggest Angers can win here based on recent results but they are becoming an established, solid side in the top flight that look more than capable of backing up last season’s mid table finish.

So with little between the teams it seems logical to back a third straight league draw between the sides and 1-1 stands out as the most likely full time score line.
