Lazio hope to continue their excellent season and a push for a Champions League spot as they welcome Torino to the Stadio Olimpico. Whilst the Aquile are still in the running for at least a Europa League berth, Torino, who sit in ninth spot, are out of the running. That being said, the Granata are determined to finish as high in the table as possible, and given that both sides have played some entertaining football this term, this Monday night encounter could be a very interesting one to watch.
Lazio have won their past four games and overall are unbeaten in their last seven. They also have one foot into the Coppa Italia finals after beating Roma 2-0, which represents another way for them to secure a spot in the Europa League. Still, Simone Inzaghi’s side want more. Currently in fourth, they haven’t given up hope of catching Napoli, who sit just four points ahead.
They look good to continue their strong run as they take on Torino. The Granata do have the highest scoring side in the league (after Juventus, Roma, and Napoli) but they have struggled in their travels, with just two wins on the road so far.
The visitors have netted in their past six straight games and have conceded in their last eight. Andrea Belotti has been the star for the Granata, as his hat-trick overturned a 1-0 deficit against Palermo, and it will be interesting to see if he remains with Torino after a brilliant season. Given that he’s in the running for the Capocannoniere – in fact, he’s top of the charts with 22 goals – Torino certainly do pose an attacking threat.
