Watch Live Sporting Boreham Wood vs Lincoln City streaming England National League at 21th March 2017

Boreham Wood have made some progress on their difficult campaign last term, but there is still a long way to go if they want to start challenging for promotion. That won’t be in their minds right now as they just look to put as much room between them and the drop zone as possible.

Their goalless draw home to Guiseley on Saturday made it four games unbeaten for the hosts and leaves them in 11th position in the table, a comfortable looking 11 points clear of the bottom four.

However, there are major concerns over their goalscoring ability. They did manage a 5-0 hammering of Dover last week, but three of their last four games have ended goalless and they have failed to score in five of their last six outings. This has resulted in them winning just two of their last 17 league matches, drawing seven and losing the remaining eight. At home they are a much more difficult side to beat, but they have still only won one of their last eight matches there and have failed to score in five of them.

Lincoln City are in a prime position to lift the Conference National trophy at the end of the season, sitting atop the table on goal difference and having three games in hand on 2nd placed Forest Green Rovers.

However, things have taken a turn for the worse recently. They had a fantastic run in the FA Cup before it finally came to an end at The Emirates this month, and since then they have lost 2-1 to York City, and Saturday saw them draw with the same opponents on home soil to send them out of the FA Trophy. They have only won one of their last six in all competitions.

Their away form in the league is more than respectable though. They have won seven, drawn two, and lost two of their last 11 trips away in the National League, and each of the last four away days has seen them keep a clean sheet.

This has all the makings of a very low scoring game. Just 11% of Boreham Wood’s home games this season have seen three or more goals, including just one of their last ten. With Lincoln City’s formidable defence on the road I’m expecting a tight game here, so even the short looking odds of 13/20 for Under 2.5 Goals look decent value. I’m backing that alongside a 1-0 win for Lincoln City at 11/2 for my correct score predictions.

Head To Head

Lincoln City have won 3 of the last 5 meetings between the two teams. The last clash between the two teams was in February 2017 when the final score was 2-0 to Lincoln City away from home in the FA Trophy.
