There’s rarely a good time for a struggling side to head to Sevilla, but Depor might just view this game as an unexpected opportunity to get a result with Sevilla strangely out of sorts. The goals have really dried up for the Andalusian side and there looks to be value in backing this to be a low-scoring game.

They’ve been a really entertaining team to watch for most of the season but for whatever reason Sevilla’s season looks to have hit a brick wall. They are without a win in a six game spell that has seen them exit the Champions League and fall right out of title contention. If they don’t turn their form around quickly they could even be left struggling to hang onto a place in the top four. Sevilla have only scored 3 goals in those 6 games and have all of a sudden looked like quite an easy team to play against.

Tiredness is perhaps one factor. They’ve had a busy campaign that started way back in early August with 3 Super Cup matches so perhaps the sheer volume of matches is catching up on them. Another theory for their lack of goals of late is that they simply lack a striker of genuine top quality. Nobody has got close to emulating the goalscoring heroics of Kevin Gameiro or Carlos Bacca in recent seasons. No Sevilla player has reached double figures in terms of league goals and right now it seems none of their players are playing with much confidence in the final third.

That’s good news for Deportivo La Coruna, who are likely to park the bus and hope they can emulate fellow strugglers Leganes and Sporting Gijon who have got low-scoring draws on their recent visits to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. Depor have looked better organised since Pepe Mel took charge and more like a side that could hold firm for 90 minutes. Depor have conceded more than once in only 1 of their 7 games so far under the former Betis boss.

The bookies still seem to be expecting a relatively high-scoring match but the recent games of these sides certainly points the other way. Playing at Barcelona in midweek will have done little to help Sevilla’s tired legs and there have been under 2.5 goals in all of their last five home league matches. Depor would see a point as a great result so will employ a cautious strategy and backing Under 2.5 goals at 11/10 looks like the value bet here.
Sevilla

The latest of the failures for the Andalusian Pride came in mid-week when they suffered a catastrophe at Camp Nou. Barcelona netted three quick goals in the first half to make it three losses in last four games for Sampaoli’s men.

Sevilla scored no more than a single goal in last four league outing and Sampaoli will be desperate to see his main stars on target this Saturday at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

Deportivo La Coruna

Depor have not been in any better attacking shape since they could not find the back of the net in three consecutive fixtures.

Staying safe will thus require a serious turnaround in form for Pepe Mel and his side who currently sits six points adrift of Sporting Gijon in the danger area.

Sevilla vs Deportivo La Coruna: Head to head

The 46th head to head meeting will be a terrific opportunity for both teams to bring back the attacking confidence because goals are almost guaranteed when these two likes take on each other.

Each of the last six head to head encounters offered the option of both teams scoring. Sevilla came out victorious from the previous clash winning 2-3 at Riazor back in November last year.

Sevilla vs Deportivo La Coruna: Prediction

We see this match as a perfect opportunity for the hosts to finally return to the winning ways and see get all levelled with Deportivo at 14 wins each in head to head stats.

It is also hard to expect the visitors to find the attacking shape at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan where Sevilla rarely allow goals.
