Tottenham Hotspur vs Watford English Premier League Date: Saturday, 8th April 2017 Kick off at 12:30 UK/ 13:30 CET Venue: White Hart Lane.

Three goals from the 88th minute onwards saw Spurs overturn a one-goal deficit at Swansea on Wednesday evening and make sure Chelsea's lead remains at just seven points.

Victory over the Hornets will see that lead reduced to four, with Chelsea making the trip to Bournemouth in the evening kick-off, and further consolidate second place.

Watford will be no pushovers, though, having won two on the bounce themselves and ease any lingering relegation fears.

Tottenham Hotspur

Mauricio Pochettino can be thrilled with his team’s current form because the Spurs picked up the sixth consecutive victory in all competitions on Wednesday evening.

The success is even greater if we know that the last couple of them came without the help of the team’s top scorer Harry Kane.

Dele Alli, Heung-Min Son and Christian Eriksen were all on target in a superb finish of the game at Liberty.

Watford

Watford have been playing hot and cold since the very start of the season, but Walter Mazzarri can generally be happy to know that the Hornets are on a fair distance from the red zone.

The visitors will come in the game with Tottenham in a good mood after claiming back-to-back wins over Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion without conceding a single goal during the process.
Tottenham vs Watford: Head to head

Tottenham have been just ruthless in the last couple of head to head matches with Swansea. The Spurs took five consecutive wins confirming their domination against the Swans.

The last match has been played in mid-January at Vicarage Road when Harry Kane and Dele Alli bagged a brace each in a demolishing 1-4 victory.

TEAM NEWS

Hugo Lloris missed Wednesday's win over Swansea through illness but is expected to return to the starting line-up on Saturday.
Victor Wanyama failed a late fitness test after also travelling with the squad but is also likely to feature against Watford.

Elsewhere, Harry Kane continues his rehabilitation from an ankle injury.

Watford have an injury crisis in defence as  Younes Kaboul suffered a hamstring injury against Sunderland and Sebastian Prodl is recovering from a rib injury, while Miguel Britos is suspended.

There was a small piece of good news for the Italian boss, however, as defender Christian Kabasele returned to full training after two months out with a hip problem.

Striker Troy Deeney and midfielders Tom Cleverley and Abdoulaye Doucoure are all "very fatigued", according to Mazzarri, while Etienne Capoue, Valon Behrami and goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes are also doubts.

Tottenham vs Watford: Prediction

Even though the visitors come to White Hart Lane with two wins on the bounce, there should be no doubts about the final outcome of the first match of the round.

Tottenham are in an impressive run of ten straight wins on the home court in Premier League and they are not going to end it this Saturday against Watford who failed to find the back of the net in each of their last two games on the road.
