Burnley vs Huddersfield
English Premier League, Season 2017/18
Date: Saturday, 23rd September 2017
Kick-off at 15:00 UK/ 16:00 CET
Venue: Turf Moor (Burnley).

Wells who has yet to make his Clarets debut, will not face the club he left on deadline day as he manages his comeback from ankle trouble, though manager Sean Dyche has revealed he is making good progress and is back training on grass.

The Clarets lost to Leeds on penalties in the Carabao Cup in midweek but though they have been beaten only once in their opening five Premier League fixtures, Dyche is still seeking more sharpness from his side in the final third.

"There's never the lack of will and demand here, to go all the way down the line" Dyche said. "The only gripe is the amount of opportunities we had [against Leeds], and not just the opportunities, the actual chances. I think that's where we're still shifting forward, working with the group, that final moment of real quality."
Huddersfield also spurned a string of chances in their cup defeat to Crystal Palace but boss David Wagner was in philosophical mood ahead of the trip to Turf Moor.

"I think we've shown our threat on the offensive so far," he said. "Yes, maybe we are not as clinical as we wish to be, but this is part of football. We created very good opportunities against Crystal Palace on Tuesday in the second half.

"We also created very good opportunities against Leicester at home as well. I have no concerns."

Burnley vs Huddersfield: Head-to-head

Burnley won the last three matches against the Terriers, while they lost 3 in a row prior to that.

The last four meetings between the two sides saw both teams scoring and 3 or more goals.

There are no stalemates in the last 8 meetings between them. Burnley won 5 of those as against Huddersfield’s 3, with all games coming in the League Championship.

At home, the Clarets won three and lost 1 from four recent meetings with the Terriers.

Burnley vs Huddersfield: Prediction

There is no doubt that this will be an interesting match-up. Both teams are defensively set-up while having some talented feet in the attacking front. Burnley’s Sam Voakes and Chris Wood or Huddersfield’s Steve Mounie if fit, and Aaron Mooy are the players who can make a difference here.

Judging by the playing style and current form of the sides involved, it will be an odd goal that could make the difference at final whistle. For that, they might need the individual brilliance from any one of the players mentioned above.
