Transfer Reports: Arsenal hold talks with DM's agent, Spurs eye swap deal, clearout planned at Hawthorns

Cheick Tiote

Arsenal have held talks with Cheik Tiote's agents, report The Star. The defensive midfielder has been at Newcastle United in 2010, and impressed so much he renewed his deal until 2017 after just a season. He is currently at the African Nations Cup with Ivory Coast, but the paper claim Arsenal are exploring interest in a player they value at £9 million.

They are close to adding teenager Krystian Bielik, the BBC reported last week, but a player like Tiote adds a level of experience the Pole cannot provide. Francis Coquelin has impressed in recent weeks, but Arsenal have Mikel Arteta out for three months. Newcastle may be keen to hold onto Tiote especially as they are currently without a permanent manager.

Kevin Mirallas

Tottenham want to offer Aaron Lennon in exchange for Kevin Mirallas, The Mirror report. Both players have 18 months remaining on their current deals, and Spurs believe Everton can be tempted by the former England international. The paper claim Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy want to offer a small amount of cash plus Lennon, but are aware Everton will likely hold out for a higher offer.

West Brom

Tony Pulis is getting his feet under the table at West Brom, and is busy developing his squad. The Mirror report three players are likely to be moved on, including Kevin Dorrans, Silvestre Varela and Sebastien Blanco, while the boss has also recommended they cut their losses on Brown Ideye.

They are trimming their squad with the intention to sign players, with Manchester United veteran Darrent Fletcher described by the paper as a priority. source: hereisthecity.com
