Goteborg vs Piast Gliwice Live Stream, Preview and Prediction Europe Champions League 2016

Piast Gliwice put in a very disappointing showing last week as they shrank under the pressure of IFK Goteborg. It took just two minutes for the visitors to open the scoring, and they managed to double their lead before half time. IFK Goteborg added a third four minutes before the final whistle to all but wrap up this Europa League tie, and it’s given Piast Gliwice an impossibly high mountain to climb.

This made it six wins in a row for IFK Goteborg and seven matches unbeaten in all competitions. The weekend saw that winning streak come to an end, but their unbeaten streak extended as they drew 1-1 at Elfsborg to put them 3rd in the Sweden Allsvenskan with 25 points from their first 14 matches.

Piast Gliwice, who enjoyed such a successful season last year as they battled to a 2nd placed finish in the Poland Ekstraklasa, haven’t had such an enjoyable start to the new season.

They followed their 3-0 thrashing at home to IFK Goteborg with their domestic opener against Cracovia Krakow, and they came away on the end of a 5-1 hammering to cause their confidence to slump even further.

Away games haven’t been the speciality of Piast Gliwice recently either. Their 5-1 thrashing at the weekend came away from home, and competitively they have only won one of their last 11 away matches in all competitions, losing five of them.

They have generally been quite heavy defeats as well. Four of these five away losses have been by a three or more goal margin, so it’s not looking good for them at the moment.

IFK Goteborg have played their part in a few of their own thrashings too, winning four of their last five home games and scoring a total of 14 goals during this period. Five of their last six home matches have resulted in at least three goals, as have five of Piast Gliwice’s last six away matches.

This all points towards a high scoring match, so my prediction is for Over 2.5 Goals at excellent value odds of 4/5 to go along with a 3-1 win for IFK Goteborg at 12/1 for my correct score prediction.
