Swiss side Grasshopper take on Turkish giants Fenerbahce in the 2nd leg of their play-off round match in the Europa League. View our betting predictions and match preview below.

Reason For Betting Tips

Grasshopper reallly have earned their place in the play-off round of the Europa League, coming through 2 rounds of qualifying already. They first knocked out KR of Iceland with a 5-4 aggregate win, before scraping through on extra time against Apollon with a 5-4 aggregate win. This tie may be one step too far though.

Fenerbahce earned their place in the play-off round after first finishing 2nd in the Turkish League to get a spot in the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League. They lost their tie against Monaco 4-3 on aggregate and in turn got a place in the Europa League play-offs.

Grasshoppers start to the season has been fairly poor, winning 2 and losing 3. However, they can take a bit of confidence in that both wins have come at home, whereas all 3 losses came away from home. This should translate into a decent performance on home turf for the Swiss side.

Fenerbahce’s start to the new season was a poor one, losing 1-0 away to Basaksehir away from home, this came after their 3-1 loss away against Monaco in the Champions League qualifying, showing that the Turkish side are weak on the road.

This leads us to the conclusion that a bet on Grasshoppers Double Chance (Win or Draw) seems good value at 4/5, whilst a correct score bet of 2-1 to Grasshoppers seems fair.

Head To Head
In the reverse fixture Fenerbahce won 3-0.
