DC United vs Columbus Crew Predictions & Betting Tips, Match Previews USA MLS

D.C. United will look to continue their playoff push after vaulting over the red line with a big win over Orlando last week. At the moment, United occupy the sixth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference but need more results to go their way to hold off a slew of teams chasing them.

One of those teams chasing them is Columbus Crew SC, who stayed in the hunt with an important win over New England over the weekend. Although they're in ninth place in the East, the Crew are only five points behind D.C. with a game in hand.

D.C. United returned home after a three-game road swing and extended their undefeated streak to three games with a 4-1 win against Orlando City SC at RFK Stadium. United fullback Taylor Kemp set up three of their four goals, extending the club’s undefeated streak at RFK Stadium to seven games. United have scored 10 goals in their last two home games.

Columbus Crew SC won their second game in a row, defeating the New England Revolution 2-0 on Sunday evening at MAPFRE Stadium. Ola Kamara scored both goals for Crew SC, his second consecutive two-goal game, and has scored the last four goals for the club; Kamara has five goals and one assist in the last three games, playing a part in every goal Crew SC has scored (they also tallied on an own goal).

The teams are meeting for the second time this season. Fabian Espíndola scored an 89th-minute equalizer for United, canceling out a goal from Crew SC’s Ola Kamara, leaving the teams in a 1-1 draw July 16 at MAPFRE Stadium.

United have won once in the last nine meetings between the teams, a 2-0 win last May 2 at RFK Stadium. Crew SC have won six of the nine meetings since the 2013 season, with three draws. The draw in the first meeting this year ended a two-game Crew SC winning streak in the series.

Head To Head

Columbus Crew have won three and drawn four of their last seven meetings with DC United and haven't lost any of their last nine matches against them.
