FC Dallas vs Seattle : Preview and Prediction Match Previews USA MLS Monday 7th, November 2016

Reason For FC Dallas vs Seattle Sounders Betting Tips

FC Dallas, who won the MLS Supporters Shield after collecting 59 points from their 33 league games, haven’t made the best of starts to their MLS Playoff campaign. They were comprehensively beaten 3-0 by Seattle Sounders in the first leg of these Conference semi-finals, thanks to three goals in eight minutes from Nelson Valdez and a brace from Nicolas Lodeiro.

FC Dallas now have an absolute mountain to climb if they are to overturn this three goal deficit and progress in the MLS Cup. Fortunately for them they have some good form to look back on. They have won three of their last five in all competitions and at home they have lost just once since last August.

This season they have won 16 of their 22 home matches in all competitions, although not many of them have seen them win by a three goal margin or more. A win shouldn’t be too hard for them to achieve, but such a comprehensive victory is a huge hurdle for them.

It will be Maximiliano Urruti and Michael Barrios who they will turn to on Sunday. The two strikers have nine goals apiece in the MLS this season, and six of Urruti’s came at the Toyota Stadium. Backing him to score at home again at 6/4 looks a good option on the goalscorer front.

Seattle Sounders are likely to be content with a narrow defeat, and I expect them to set up very conservatively and hold the scores level for as long as possible. If they can grab another goal on the counter that would settle the tie as well.

For this reason I’m not expecting many attacking chances for Seattle Sounders, despite their excellent form. They have won seven and lost just one of their last nine games, although that one defeat did come away to FC Dallas in the middle of October.

FC Dallas will give it a good go though, and with such high stakes on the line I think they could push it close. Considering the expected set up and mentality of both teams coming into this, I think odds of 2.150 for an FC Dallas -1.0 Asian Handicap Win are very good value, and I’m going for that along with a 3-1 correct score prediction which would see Seattle Sounders go through.
