Petr Cech unlikely to leave Chelsea in January, claims agent

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech looks set to remain at Stamford Bridge for the rest of the season, after his agent suggested that there are not enough attractive clubs interested in recruiting him in the coming transfer window.

Cech, 32, was linked to the likes of Real Madrid, Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain in August after losing his number one spot to Thibaut Courtois, but manager Jose Mourinho has continued to express his desire to keep the veteran at Stamford Bridge.

The Czech Republic international had stated last month that he would look for a solution if he continued to be confined to the bench, with a loan move to Besiktas rumoured at one stage, but representative Viktor Kolar has now conceded that options are limited.

"In the football world you can never rule out anything definitively, however, if you put together the facts with Petr's ambitions of a top-class goalkeeper, you will not be left with too many options," Kolar said.

"If we add to this the actual little need of these few clubs to search a new goalkeeper in the winter's transfer window, then you will find out that the chance of a transfer in the next weeks or months is not very high."

Kolar’s comments after Mourinho himself dismissed reports linking Cech with a move to rivals Arsenal last week, insisting both he and Courtois can work together at the club.

"On which Mickey Mouse website? On which Mickey Mouse blog? At this moment, news is coming instantly," he told reporters. "News born every day, every minute, every second. Some news are not even signed.

"Some website, some blogs, we don't even know where we get the news. I promise you I tell you the truth. On my desk, normally from my board's desk the information arrives, I have zero. Zero proposals.

"I believe in what is happening at this moment. At this moment, Petr Cech is our goalkeeper and has a contract for two more years.

"He's a fantastic professional and puts the team's interests first. Not once has Petr Cech knocked on my door to inform me of his desire to accept some proposal. This is my truth. Nothing more I can say."

How much longer do you think Cech will stay at Chelsea?
