Wife of Angel Di Maria tells Man United star she does not want to return home after attempted break-in

The £60million Manchester United winger is now staying the Lowry hotel in Manchester as his family look to come to terms with the ordeal

The wife of Angel Di Maria has told her husband that she does not want to return to their family home in Cheshire.

Di Maria's family home was attacked on Saturday night by raiders, as the Manchester United star ate dinner with his wife Jorgelina Cardoso and one-year-old daughter Mia.

Three thugs attempted to smash their way through the property's patio doors just hours after United's 3-1 win over Leicester. After failing to gain entry to the house, they fled the scene - but the Di Maria family were left incredibly shaken by the incident.

Jorgelina has now reportedly said that she does not feel comfortable staying at the house and is staying away from the house for the time being, along with Mia. They are said to be living in the Manchester Lowry hotel while they recover from the ordeal.

Di Maria drafted in security guards to offer round-the-clock protection for the house, after it was boarded up following the attack.

A source told the The Sun: "Angel's wife is completely freaked out.

"She has told Angel that she never wants to go back. She may calm down in time but she is very family oriented so she has been really shaken by what happened."
