 FC Copenhagen vs Club Bruges
UEFA Champions League – Group G
Date: Tuesday, 27th September 2016
Kick-Off: 21:00 GMT+7
Venue: Parken Stadium, Copenhagen.

Copenhagen have been in good form this season and they secured a point in Portugal during their opening Champions League game against Porto, while Brugge have somewhat struggled and suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat against Leicester City. Since that defeat the visitors have gone on to win their next three games on the run, so the hosts should not be expecting an easy game by any means. SkyBet do have the hosts down as big favourites to take all three points though, with the online bookmakers offering just 17/20 on a home win, 5/2 for the draw and 100/30 on the visitors being victorious. I’m a little surprised at those odds as Brugge have turned their form around of late and Copenhagen arguably have the weakest squad in the group, so it at that price it might just be worth betting on the Belgians.
HEAD TO HEAD
These two clubs have met on 5 previous occasions in European competitions, with their last Champions League encounter coming 4-years ago. In 2014 the pair met in the Europa league and their most recent match ended in a 4-0 win for the visitors from Belgium. Refaelov was the hero in Denmark scoring a first half hat trick for Brugge in a game that the hosts well and truly dominated from start to finish.
PREDICTION
The hosts are unbeaten in their last six matches, picking up three draws and three wins, which is enough to make Copenhagen the form favourites for Tuesday’s game. Brugge have won their last three matches, but before that they lost two and drew one, so while their overall form isn’t as good as the hosts they do head into the game with wins under their belt. Target man Cornelius has 7 goals in the league and Europe this season, 1 of which secured a point late on in Portugal against Porto during the opening round of group games. Vossen is a proven scorer of goals in Belgium, despite failing to make the transition to English football, and he already has 3 goals in the league for Brugge and will no doubt be one of their main attacking threats. I can see both teams scoring in this game, but I’m putting my money on Brugge taking all three points courtesy of a 2-1 final score.

Stats
Copenhagen have won 89% of their home games this season, whilst Club Brugge have lost 60% of their away days.

Team News
Copenhagen are expecting to have a fully fit squad available on Tuesday.

Centre back Bjorn Engels, winger Lier Refaelov, and striker Wesley are sidelined for the visitors.
